Dante is a successful lawyer who has always been focused on his career to the point of neglecting his personal life. Alice is a free-spirited artist and the complete opposite of Dante. They meet at a gallery opening and after a few drinks, they end up accidentally kissing. They both brush it off as a mistake, but their friends and family see the potential for a great couple and encourage them to pursue a relationship.
Dante is hesitant at first, but Alice's carefree and fun-loving personality slowly wins him over. They start dating and before they know it, they are engaged. Dante's friends plan a surprise party for his 40th birthday, and the night is filled with laughter, love, and lots of alcohol.
The next morning, Dante wakes up confused and disoriented. He realizes that he cannot remember anything that happened after blowing out the candles on his birthday cake. He assumes that it must have been a wild party, but as time passes, he realizes that he is forgetting important moments from his past as well.
Dante's life starts to spiral out of control, and he struggles to hold onto his career, his relationship with Alice, and even his memories of his own life. Meanwhile, Alice discovers that she is pregnant, and Dante is forced to come to terms with the fact that he may not remember the birth of his own child.
As Dante's memory loss worsens, he seeks help from doctors and therapists, but nothing seems to work. He becomes increasingly isolated and withdrawn as he fears losing his grip on reality altogether. Alice tries to support him, but she too is struggling with the uncertainty of their future.
In the end, Dante comes to a realization that the only way to move forward is to embrace the present and cherish the moments he has left. He starts to take steps towards rebuilding his life, apologizes to Alice for any pain he may have caused her, and welcomes his new child into the world with open arms.
