Still Life

Still Life is a British-Italian drama film directed by Uberto Pasolini. The movie follows John May, played by Eddie Marsan, who is a council case worker in London whose job is to find and locate the relatives of those who have died alone and unclaimed. He takes it upon himself to give them a dignified send-off by organizing a funeral service and locating their next of kin.

As he carries out his job, May becomes an obsessive collector of memories of the deceased and seeks to find out more about their lives. When he discovers that one of the deceased was a kindred spirit, his search for the man's family becomes a personal quest.

During his journey, May meets Kelly Stoke, an ex-nurse played by Joanne Froggatt, whose help he enlists in his search for the family of the deceased. May and Stoke develop a close relationship as they continue to search for the man's relatives, and their relationship becomes a source of comfort and solace for May.

With a touching and poignant storyline, Still Life depicts the value and importance of human connections and the need for empathy and compassion in an urban society. The film premiered at the 2013 Venice Film Festival and was critically acclaimed for its sensitive approach to the subject.
