The movie Stepping High follows Sima, a former professional dancer, who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that she has aged out of the dance industry. Desperate for work, Sima reluctantly takes a job as a teacher at a local high school. However, she soon realizes that the job reignites her passion for dance and pushes her into creating a unique fusion of belly and ballroom styles.
As Sima begins to choreograph her new dance style, she is faced with a number of challenges. She must navigate the conservative environment of the high school, deal with her own self-doubt and depression, and find dancers who are willing to take a chance on her unconventional style.
Despite these obstacles, Sima is determined to succeed. With the help of a group of misfit students, she puts together an unforgettable performance that showcases her new dance style and takes the entire school by storm.
