Step Brothers is a 2008 American comedy film directed by Adam McKay and stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. The movie centers around two middle-aged men, Brennan Huff and Dale Doback, who are forced to live together as reluctant stepbrothers when their parents get married.
Brennan and Dale begin their lives as stepbrothers with utter disdain for each other, with each trying to assert dominance and get the other to move out. They engage in childish antics, such as disrupting each other's job interviews and singing inappropriate songs at family functions.
As the story progresses, Brennan and Dale bond over their shared love for '80s power ballads and their mutual dislike of their overbearing parents. However, their competitive nature continues to get in the way of their friendship, leading to a series of hilarious mishaps.
At one point, Brennan and Dale become motivated to start their own entertainment company, with the idea of using their unique combination of skills to become famous.
