Steele Wool follows the story of Edie, a deaf housewife who has been trapped in a loveless and abusive marriage for years. One day, when her husband comes home drunk and starts to beat her up, she decides enough is enough. She grabs a kitchen knife and stabs him to death.
Fearing for her safety and freedom, Edie takes a bold step forward – she reinvents herself as a hired assassin and begins to take out the worst of humanity with the utmost efficiency. Her deafness gives her an edge in her new career, as it enhances her other senses and keeps her undetected.
