Stealing Beauty is a 1996 drama film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and starring Liv Tyler, Jeremy Irons, and Rachel Weisz. The film follows Lucy Harmon (Liv Tyler), a nineteen-year-old American who travels from her home in the United States to the Tuscan countryside in Italy to stay with friends of her mother in an effort to rediscover herself and her artistic talents.

Lucy arrives at the villa where she will be staying and is greeted by the occupants, including a dying literary critic (Jeremy Irons) who is searching for a rare manuscript, and a group of young people who are living there to find inspiration and artistic enlightenment. Among these people is a boy named Niccolo (played by Italian actor Dario Cappanera) with whom Lucy exchanged a kiss during her previous visit to the villa four years earlier.

As Lucy reconnects with old friends and makes new ones, she sets out to find Niccolo and rekindle the romance they shared. Along the way, she begins to discover who she really is and what she wants from life, as well as learning some painful truths about her past.

The film explores themes of self-discovery, creativity, love, and loss, against the backdrop of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Stealing Beauty was well-received by critics and is noted for its stunning visuals and evocative soundtrack, which features music from artists such as Portishead and Mazzy Star.
