Jessica Olsen is a down-to-earth girl from a small town in Michigan who lives a normal life with her parents and younger brother. Her older sister, Sara, is a huge fan of Christopher Wilde, a famous pop star, and dreams of meeting him one day.
When Jessica's parents go on a vacation to Europe, she and Sara tag along to visit their grandparents in Los Angeles. Sara hopes to finally meet Christopher, as she knows he is also in town for an event.
One night, while wandering around Hollywood, Jessica bumps into Christopher at a gas station. They start talking, and soon Jessica realizes that he is not the pompous person she thought he was.
