Starship Troopers 3: Marauder is a science-fiction action film released in 2008. It is the third installment in the Starship Troopers franchise and was directed by Edward Neumeier, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Casper Van Dien.
The movie takes place in the distant future when humanity is in war with an alien race known as the Bugs. The Federation has now established a new stronghold on a planet known as OM-1.
When a Federation Starship crashes on the planet, the leader of the Federation, Sky Marshal Anoke, and several other important officials are stranded on the planet with no means of communication with the rest of the Federation army. This forces the military to send starship troopers, led by Colonel/General Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien), to rescue the stranded crew.
Along with his team of troopers, Rico embarks on a daring mission to rescue Sky Marshal Anoke and his team. However, the rescue operation quickly turns into a battle for survival when the team discovers that the Bugs have developed new and highly advanced weapons that could wipe out humanity once and for all.
As the troopers battle the Bugs, they also have to deal with an internal conflict brewing within their ranks as some of the troopers question the leadership of Rico and his methods. Amidst all the chaos, a love triangle between Rico, Lola Beck (Jolene Blalock), and a fellow trooper named Jingo (Boris Kodjoe) adds an extra layer of drama to the story.
