As they embark on a passionate love affair, their lives are soon intertwined with the dangerous political situations brewing in the country. William claims to be a representative for the US government, but Ames begins to suspect that he may have more sinister motives. She turns to her local contact, Juan, played by Luis Da Silva Jr, for information, but soon finds herself targeted by the authorities and forced to flee with William.
