Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods is a 1997 science fiction movie, which served as the pilot episode for the Stargate SG-1 television series. The film was directed by Mario Azzopardi and written by Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright. It was produced by MGM Television and aired on Showtime Network.

The movie follows the story of Jack O'Neil, Samantha Carter, and Daniel Jackson, who are assembling a new team to investigate the disappearance of a soldier, who was kidnapped by an alien similar to Ra, the villain in the original Stargate movie. The alien kills five soldiers, including Jack's former team member, and takes another one captive.

The team includes Lieutenant Kowalski, Captain Samuels, and Teal'c, a Jaffa who knows about the Goa'uld and their technology. They travel through the Stargate and arrive on the other side, where they find the captive soldier and discover that Ra is dead but a new Goa'uld is on the loose, posing a threat to Earth.

Meanwhile, on Abydos, Daniel Jackson's wife, Sha're, and Skaara, the brother of Abydonian leader Kasuf, are kidnapped by the Goa'uld. They are implanted with symbiotes and made hosts, becoming loyal servants of the alien race. Daniel and Kasuf team up with the SG-1 team to rescue Sha're and Skaara and stop the Goa'uld from invading Earth.

Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods is an action-packed movie, filled with special effects, intense combat scenes, and suspenseful moments. It introduces the main characters of the SG-1 team, including Jack O'Neil (played by Richard Dean Anderson), Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), and Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks), and sets up the premise of the series as a battle against the Goa'uld and their plans for galactic domination.
