In Stargate: Continuum, Ba'al, a Goa'uld system lord, manages to travel back in time using a time machine. He goes back to a point in time before the Stargate program was started and prevents it from happening. With the Stargate program never being established, the course of history is completely changed. The SG-1 team, who are now scattered across the world, have to find a way to fix what has been done.
After being captured by Ba'al's Jaffa, Colonel Cameron Mitchell is able to escape and contact the other members of SG-1. They realize that they have all been changed by the altered timeline: Dr. Daniel Jackson is now a lecturer, Teal'c is the first prime of Apophis, and Colonel Samantha Carter is working on a secret project for the government.
They track down Ba'al and engage in a battle with him. When Ba'al is killed in the fight, his time machine is activated, sending SG-1 back to the future just moments before Ba'al changes the timeline. SG-1 is able to prevent Ba'al from carrying out his plan and ensure that the Stargate program is started as it should be.
In the end, SG-1 members are restored to their original timelines. However, they are left with the knowledge that time travel is a real threat and must be treated with extreme caution.
