The movie follows the story of Denise, a former prostitute, who is released from prison after serving five years for theft. She moves to a new city and befriends a young couple, Martin and his girlfriend, who live in the same apartment building. Despite Martin's reservations about Denise's past, he allows her to stay with them temporarily.
Denise soon begins to manipulate and seduce Martin, causing a rift in his relationship with his girlfriend. She also begins to engage in criminal activities, using Martin's trust and connections to steal from his workplace.
As Denise's behavior becomes more erratic and dangerous, Martin realizes he must end their relationship before it destroys him and his girlfriend. However, Denise resists his attempts to leave her and becomes increasingly violent and unstable.
The situation comes to a head when Denise sets fire to the apartment building, endangering the lives of Martin and his girlfriend. In the end, Martin is forced to confront Denise and end their relationship for good. The movie ends with Martin and his girlfriend moving on with their lives, while Denise is left alone and desperate.
