The self-proclaimed vampire hunter at the center of the film is a man named Carl, who claims to have been tracking vampires for over a decade. He begins the movie by detailing his extensive training in, and knowledge of, vampire lore and physiology. Carl's days consist of preparing equipment, such as his stakes, crossbows, and garlic bombs, and researching possible vampire sightings and recent attacks.
As part of their investigation, the film crew follows Carl on multiple late-night stakeouts in areas where vampire activity is rumored to occur. During these stakeouts, they film Carl as he searches for signs of vampires and sets up traps to capture and kill them. The team also interviews local residents who have reported suspicious activity or have personal experience with vampire attacks.
As the investigation progresses, the team begins to uncover evidence that vampires may indeed exist. They capture footage of strange shadows and movements around graveyards and witness strange, unexplained occurrences during their stakeouts.
