St. Ives is a 1976 crime drama film directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Charles Bronson as Raymond St. Ives, a crime novelist and former reporter who is hired by a dabbler-in-crime named Abner Procane, played by John Houseman, to locate some stolen papers that have put both of their lives in danger.
St. Ives is initially hesitant to take on the job, but when he discovers that the papers in question reveal the identity of some high-profile informants, he agrees to help. He is assisted in his investigation by Procane's beautiful and sassy secretary, Janet Whistler, played by Jaqueline Bisset.
