David is a struggling college student who is looking for a job to support himself. He finally lands a job as a lab assistant for Dr. Carl Stoner, a herpetologist who studies snakes. David is fascinated by the work he does in the laboratory and learns a lot about the behavior of snakes.
Soon, David meets Stoner's daughter, Kristina, and he is immediately smitten by her beauty. However, his affection for her is not reciprocated, which frustrates him. Meanwhile, Dr. Stoner works secretly on his latest experiment, a serum that can transform any man into a King Cobra snake.
David becomes the unwitting subject of Stoner's experiment and is injected with the serum. He begins to feel strange and gradually transforms into a King Cobra. At first, David is terrified, but he soon learns to embrace his new form and even begins to use it to exact revenge on those who have wronged him.
As David struggles to maintain his humanity, he also becomes the subject of intense study by Dr. Stoner, who is fascinated by the transformation he has undergone. David's relationship with Kristina becomes more complicated as he grapples with his new form and his growing feelings of alienation from the human world.
In the end, David is forced to make a choice between his humanity and his snake form. The movie ends with a dramatic showdown between David and Dr. Stoner, as David seeks to get revenge for the experiments that were carried out on him.
