Spellbinder is a 1988 supernatural thriller directed by Janet Greek and written by Tracy Tormé. Jeff, the protagonist of the story, is an ambitious law student who is set to take the bar exam. His life takes a dramatic turn when he and his friend stumble upon a young woman being beaten by her boyfriend. They rescue her and take her back to Jeff's apartment.
The woman, Miranda, is a mysterious and alluring stranger who quickly captures Jeff's attention. She reveals to him that she is on the run from a group of witches who have been pursuing her for some time.
