In the movie Species, the transmission received by the SETI project is traced to the planet Mars and is found to contain the genetic blueprint of an alien species. A team of scientists led by Dr. Xavier Fitch (played by Ben Kingsley) is assembled to use this genetic material to create a hybrid being that is part human and part alien, in the hopes of learning more about extraterrestrial life.
However, when the creature named Sil (played by Natasha Henstridge) is born, it quickly becomes clear that she is far more dangerous than anyone anticipated. Sil has extraordinary strength, agility, and intelligence, along with an insatiable hunger to reproduce and spread her alien DNA.
As the team tracks Sil across the country, they recruit a skeptical ex-con named Preston (played by Michael Madsen) to help them take down the creature before she can mate and create a new generation of deadly hybrids.
However, as Sil continues to evolve and adapt to her surroundings, the team realizes that they may have bit off more than they can chew in trying to defeat her. With each passing moment, Sil becomes more powerful and more difficult to contain, leading to a thrilling and action-packed showdown between the humans and the alien creature.
