Spare Room follows the story of James, a young veteran who is struggling with PTSD and the guilt of not being able to save his brother during their time serving in the military. After being discharged, James finds himself in a downward spiral of self-destructive behavior and substance abuse.
Desperate for redemption, James reaches out to his sister-in-law, Betty, who is still grieving the loss of her husband. James decides to rent a spare room in her home so he can be closer to his brother's memory and try to make amends for the past.
