The movie Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone is a 1983 sci-fi action-adventure film directed by Lamont Johnson. The movie is set in the far-off future where the universe is ruled by ruthless leaders and inhabited by various species. The story follows the journey of a bounty hunter named Wolff, played by Peter Strauss, who is hired by a wealthy businessman named Parsafoot to rescue his daughter and her two friends from the Forbidden Zone.
The Forbidden Zone is a planet that is afflicted by a deadly disease known as the Crater's Plague. The planet itself is controlled by the villainous dictator Overdog, played by Michael Ironside, who is in charge of a city full of mutants and scavengers. The three women, who are survivors of a crashed spacecraft, are taken captive by Overdog, who plans to use them to lure other survivors to his city.
Wolff sets out on his journey to the Forbidden Zone in his spaceship with the help of his android assistant, Chalmers. On his way, he meets Niki, played by Molly Ringwald, the only survivor of a previous medical expedition to the planet. Niki joins Wolff on his mission to rescue the women and the two become close as they navigate through the dangerous terrain full of strange creatures and hostile mutants.
Upon reaching the city, they discover that Overdog has transformed the three women into mind-controlled cyborgs and is planning to use them to destroy Wolff and anyone who opposes him. Wolff and Niki work together to defeat Overdog and his minions and rescue the three women. The movie ends with the group escaping the planet and Wolff and Niki sharing a kiss as they head off into the universe.
