Drama,Thriller,Action  United States of America

Southie is a crime drama film directed by John Shea and released in 1998. The movie follows the story of Danny Quinn, played by Donnie Wahlberg, who returns to his hometown of South Boston after being away in New York for several years. Danny is a tough-talking, street-smart, and fiercely independent young man with a troubled past.

Upon his return to Southie, Danny finds himself caught in the middle of a bloody turf war between two Irish mafia clans. One of the clans is led by his childhood friend, Joey "Bag O' Doughnuts" (played by Will Arnett), while the other is led by his own brother, Patrick (played by Jason Gedrick). Danny's loyalty is torn between the two factions, as he tries to navigate the dangerous and violent world of South Boston organized crime.

Adding to Danny's troubles is his complicated relationship with his family. His mother Mary (played by Rose McGowan) is an alcoholic, and his father (played by John Shea) is a former cop who is now retired. Danny's older sister Kathleen (played by Anne Meara) is married to a powerful local politician, while his younger brother Frankie (played by Billy L. Sullivan) is a troubled high school student.

As the conflict between the two mafia clans escalates, Danny is forced to choose sides and confront his own demons. The movie explores themes of loyalty, family, and the struggle to find one's place in a world of violence and corruption.
