South Pacific is a 1958 American musical film based on the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name. The movie tells the story of a group of American sailors and nurses stationed on a tropical island during World War II. Among them is Nellie Forbush, a nurse from Little Rock, Arkansas who falls in love with a French planter named Emile de Becque.
