Soul Snatcher is a Chinese fantasy film directed by Wang Dalu, and based on the novel "Gui Chui Deng" by Beijing writer Zhuge Qiao. The film stars Chen Linong, Li Xian, and Jessie Li in lead roles.

The story is set in the Ming dynasty era, where the scholar Wang Zijin is trying to pass the imperial exams and make a name for himself. On his journey to Beijing, he encounters Bai Shisan, a fox demon disguised as a human. The two become unlikely friends, with Bai Shisan helping Wang Zijin in his journey.

However, Bai Shisan has his own sinister motives – he wants to obtain a magic pill that would make him immortal. He tricks Wang Zijin into helping him retrieve the pill from an ancient tomb, but their journey is not without obstacles. They encounter a group of bandits, who capture them and force them to confront their darkest fears.

As they progress through their journey, Wang Zijin starts to realize Bai Shisan's true identity and intentions. He must now decide whether to help Bai Shisan achieve his goals or stop him from causing harm to others.

The film employs stunning visual effects to showcase the fantastical elements in the story. It also features a haunting musical score by composer Bigyan Rai. The film premiered in China on December 6, 2019, and received favorable reviews for its engaging storyline and high production values.
