Sons of the Desert is a 1933 American pre-Code comedy film starring Laurel and Hardy. The main characters, Stan and Ollie, are members of the Sons of the Desert, a fraternal lodge organization. When they learn about the upcoming convention in Chicago, they are excited to attend, but their wives forbade them from going, fearing they will get into trouble.
Determined to attend the convention, Stan and Ollie come up with a plan to deceive their wives. They pretend they are ill and need to take a medicinal cruise to Hawaii to recover. In reality, they plan to take a train to Chicago for the convention.
Their plan works, and they make it to the convention where they have a great time. However, things take a turn when their wives find out about their deception and show up at the convention to confront them. In the end, everything is resolved through a series of comedic misunderstandings and mishaps.
The film is widely regarded as one of Laurel and Hardy's best and is noted for its clever writing, physical comedy, and memorable scenes, such as the "Tin Horns" song and the famous line, "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into."
