Son of the Pink Panther is a 1993 comedy film directed by Blake Edwards. It is the last installment in the Pink Panther series and features a new actor, Roberto Benigni, playing the role of Inspector Clouseau's illegitimate son, Jacques Gambrelli.

The movie begins with Princess Yasmin (Debrah Farentino) being kidnapped while visiting a ski resort in Switzerland. Inspector Clouseau's former boss, Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), is called in to investigate the case. However, when Dreyfus suffers a nervous breakdown, he is replaced by Jacques Gambrelli, who bears a striking resemblance to his father.

Jacques proves to be a bumbling detective, but his unconventional methods and determination help him uncover clues leading to the kidnappers. Along the way, he enlists the help of Nicole (Nicoletta Braschi), a beautiful local police officer, and his father's former assistant, Cato (Burt Kwouk).

As Jacques gets closer to solving the case, he discovers that the kidnappers are the ruthless Mafia boss, Hanif (Robert Davi), and his henchman, Al Marchione (Robbie Coltrane). Jacques is able to outwit and defeat them, rescuing Princess Yasmin and winning the affection of Nicole.

Son of the Pink Panther received mixed reviews upon its release and was a commercial failure. Despite this, Benigni's performance was praised, and the movie is remembered for being the last entry in the series created by director Blake Edwards.
