In the film Son of Frankenstein, Wolf von Frankenstein, the son of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, returns to his father's estate in the village of Frankenstein. He brings his wife and young son with him and intends to claim his inheritance. However, he quickly discovers that the villagers are still scared of the Frankenstein name and his family history.
Wolf decides to follow in his father's footsteps and resumes his experimentation on reanimating life. He discovers his father's monster, who has been in a coma for many years, and decides to revive him. When the monster wakes up, he is initially docile and childlike, but the evil Ygor, who had survived the hanging that was meant to end his life, soon emerges as the mastermind behind the monster. Ygor manipulates the monster and uses it as a tool for his revenge against the villagers who had wrongly accused him of crimes.
As the plot unfolds, Wolf and Ygor engage in a battle of wits, with the monster caught in the middle. The climax of the film takes place in the castle's laboratory, where Wolf faces a final confrontation with the monster and Ygor. In the end, Wolf is able to defeat Ygor and convince the monster to sacrifice himself to save Wolf's son. The film ends with Wolf accepting his family's legacy but also recognizing the dangers of playing god with life.
