The goal is to see if any of the world’s Pinot Noirs can stand up to the greatest Burgundies of France, which are widely considered the best Pinot Noirs in the world. The wine experts taste the wines blindly, not knowing which wine is which and which country it is from.
The film shows the intense and challenging process of becoming a Master Sommelier, the highest level of wine expertise, which only 274 people in the world have achieved. The tasting scenes are dramatic, with experts describing the wines in vivid detail, trying to guess their origin and vintage.
