The man in question is Jim Norman, a high school teacher who moves back to his hometown with his wife and children. Jim has vivid memories of three bullies who tormented him in high school and were later killed in a car accident. He begins to see the same three teenagers around town and at school, but they don't appear to have aged since their deaths.
Jim is initially hesitant to believe that these teenagers are ghosts, but he soon realizes that they are back to haunt him. They taunt him by playing on his fears and anxieties, and they even physically assault him a few times. Meanwhile, Jim becomes increasingly isolated and paranoid, both at home and at work.
As the haunting intensifies, Jim starts to research the history of his hometown and discovers a dark secret involving the bullies and a Satanic cult. He eventually confronts the ghosts and manages to defeat them with the help of another teacher and his own inner strength.
Throughout the movie, there are themes of trauma, guilt, and redemption. Jim's experiences with the ghosts help him confront his own past and overcome his fears. The movie also explores the dangers of bullying and the consequences that can come from unchecked cruelty.
