Somebody I Used to Know centers around Ally, a successful marketing executive who returns to her small hometown for a few days. While there, she runs into her first love, Sean, whom she hasn't seen in over a decade. The two of them start catching up and reminiscing about the past, which leads to Ally questioning the choices she's made in her life.
Things get even more complicated when Ally meets Sean's fiancé, Cassidy, who is outgoing and free-spirited - just like Ally used to be. As Ally spends more time with Sean and Cassidy, she realizes that Cassidy reminds her of the person she used to be before she became so focused on her career.
