So Cold the River is a horror movie directed by Paul Shoulberg, based on a novel of the same name by Michael Koryta. The movie follows the story of a documentary filmmaker named Eric Shaw who is hired by a mysterious woman to make a film about her grandfather, Campbell Bradford. Campbell was a wealthy and influential figure in the small Indiana town of West Baden, known for his philanthropic works and eccentric behavior.
Upon arriving in West Baden, Eric begins to research Campbell and starts to unravel the strange events that have occurred in the town's history. He discovers that Campbell had a dark secret, and had dabbled in the supernatural, using a strange mineral water from a nearby spring that had mystical powers.
As Eric dives deeper into his investigation, he becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth about Campbell and the mineral water. But in doing so, he unleashes an unexplained evil that starts to consume him. Things take an even darker turn when Eric and his wife, Claire, decide to stay at a local resort, where they encounter terrifying paranormal activity.
As the pair races to uncover the truth and the evil force that has overtaken the town, Eric's own sanity and safety are at stake. So Cold the River is a suspenseful tale that explores the power of obsession and the dangers of delving too deeply into the unknown.
