Jenna Hudson (Bethany Joy Lenz) is a workaholic online editor who is never too busy to miss an opportunity to climb the corporate ladder. Kevin Jenner (Andrew Walker), on the other hand, is a laid-back travel writer who lives life to the fullest. During the Christmas season, both Jenna and Kevin are left with no plans and no one to celebrate with.
As they are in search of a special story to write about for the online publication, they decide to volunteer for a special writing assignment. During their journey, they get stuck in a snowstorm and their plane lands in Santa Claus, Indiana.
Once there, they discover a small Christmas Wonderland town that is full of festive decorations and cheerful locals. However, the town's most iconic building, the Winters' Inn, is in danger of closing. The inn is run by Carol and Christopher Winters (Tasha Smith and Sam Palladio), who have poured their life savings into its renovation.
Jenna and Kevin decide to focus their article on saving the inn. They team up with Carol and Christopher to come up with innovative ideas that will attract tourists and keep the inn running. As they work together, Jenna and Kevin slowly begin to appreciate each other's work styles and even start to experience the magic of Christmas together.
However, just as things are starting to look up, Jenna's ex-boyfriend unexpectedly shows up, causing tension and increasing doubts about her personal life and professional goals. With the inn's fate in jeopardy, Carol and Christopher's guidance, and the help of some unexpected allies, Jenna and Kevin must work together to save the inn and also discover the true meaning of Christmas.
In the end, the two writers fall in love and ultimately turn their temporary work assignment into a permanent job offer in Santa Claus, Indiana. They finally find a place they truly belong for the holidays.
