Lucy is disappointed when she hears that her beloved grandmother won't be able to visit her during Christmas. To lift her spirits, she decides to throw an exciting and massive New Year's Eve party at her house in order to ring in the new year with her friends and family.
Meanwhile, Charlie Brown has made a list of resolutions for the new year. He's determined to complete at least one resolution before the clock strikes midnight, but he's not sure how to do it. The festivities are in full swing, and Snoopy and Woodstock join in on the fun.
As the night wears on, Charlie Brown becomes increasingly anxious about fulfilling his resolution. He begins to realize that his goal requires him to step outside of his comfort zone and take a risk. With the help of his friends and some unexpected encouragement, Charlie Brown finally manages to achieve his goal just in time for the countdown to the new year.
As the clock strikes twelve, everyone cheers, and Lucy is filled with optimism for the year to come. The group joins hands, raises their glasses, and sings "Auld Lang Syne," bidding farewell to the past year and welcoming the future.
