Sno Babies

"Sno Babies" is a powerful indie drama that explores the devastating effects of opioid addiction on two teenage girls from a wealthy suburban community. Kristen (played by Katie Kelly) and Hannah (played by Paola Andino) are introduced as everyday teenagers, complete with school uniforms, pink bedrooms, and loving parents who seem entirely oblivious to their daughters' drug use.

As the story unfolds, we see the two girls descend deeper and deeper into their addiction, their lives quickly becoming a never-ending cycle of chasing highs and trying to avoid withdrawal. Despite participating in the typical teenage activities (parties, sports, school dances), they are also regularly shooting up in school bathrooms, parking lots, and abandoned buildings.

Complicating matters is the fact that Kristen's mother (played by Shannan Wilson) is not only a doctor but also actively involved in the community's drug prevention efforts. As Kristen's addiction worsens, she tries to hide it from her mother and participate in the anti-drug campaigns that her mother organizes.

"Snobabies" is a raw, emotionally charged film that doesn't shy away from the excruciating realities of drug addiction. There are moments that are difficult to watch, such as when one of the girls is forced to engage in sexual acts in order to obtain drugs, or when they both overdose and are left unconscious.

However, the film is also marked by moments of hope, such as when Kristen's mother finally confronts her daughter about her addiction, and when both girls are admitted to a rehabilitation facility. Through it all, "Sno Babies" remains a poignant and thought-provoking portrayal of the opioid crisis, and a reminder of the often-unseen realities of addiction.
