Snake Eyes is a 1998 American political conspiracy thriller film directed by Brian De Palma and starring Nicolas Cage, Gary Sinise, and Carla Gugino. The story takes place in Atlantic City, where Rick Santoro (Cage), a corrupt police detective, is attending a boxing match at a casino with his best friend, Kevin Dunne (Sinise), who is a naval intelligence officer.

During the match, the Secretary of Defense is assassinated and a young woman named Julia Costello (Gugino) appears to be the only witness to the crime. Santoro takes charge of the investigation, but as he digs deeper, he realizes that there is a larger conspiracy at play. He begins to uncover evidence that suggests that the assassination may have been part of a larger plot to manipulate the stock market.

Santoro's investigation leads him to suspect several key players, including billionaire Gilbert Powell (John Heard), Julia's ex-husband and casino owner Tyler (Joel Fabiani), and a mysterious woman named Serena (Carla Gugino in a dual role). As the bodies pile up, Santoro becomes increasingly desperate to uncover the truth before it's too late.

Snake Eyes features Brian De Palma's trademark visual style, including long tracking shots and split-screen sequences. In addition to its visual flair, the film boasts a strong cast and a twisty, complex plot that keeps audiences guessing until the very end. Despite mixed critical reviews, Snake Eyes was a box office success, and it remains a cult classic for fans of De Palma's work.
