The film follows a group of hitmen and assassins who are all hired to kill Buddy Israel (played by Jeremy Piven) before he can testify against the mob. The group includes a beautiful but deadly female assassin (played by Alicia Keys), a pair of psychotic neo-Nazi brothers (played by Chris Pine and Kevin Durand), a cold-blooded master of disguise (played by Ben Affleck) and a deadly African-American hitman known only as "The Swede" (played by Peter Berg).
As the hitmen converge on the Lake Tahoe hotel where Buddy is hiding out under FBI protection, the body count rises rapidly and alliances are formed and broken in equal measure. Meanwhile, two FBI agents (played by Ray Liotta and Ryan Reynolds) struggle to protect Buddy and get him to court alive, while also dealing with their own personal demons and conflicting loyalties.
The film is known for its stylish direction, intense action sequences and strong ensemble cast, which also includes Andy Garcia, Taraji P. Henson and Common. It received mixed reviews upon release but has since gained a cult following for its dark humor and unconventional take on the hitman genre.
