In Smokey and the Bandit Part 3, Cletus and the Enos duo are now partners in a new venture, a rib joint called the "Flying Rib." The problem is that they are struggling to gain publicity and increase their sales. In a stroke of marketing genius, the Enos brothers decide to bring back the infamous Bandit, who had once been the most renowned driver in the country.
Bandit, who had been leading a quiet life in Florida, is hesitant at first but eventually agrees to help out. However, the deal comes with a catch - he must deliver a consignment of hot tubs to Dallas, Texas, in just three days. But this is easier said than done, as they must outrun the ruthless Sheriff Buford T. Justice, who is out to catch them.
Bandit sets off with Trigger, his trusty truck, and is soon pursued by Justice, who is determined to catch him this time. In the meantime, the duo tries to create various distractions to throw the sheriff off their trail. One of their ploys involves dressing up the truck in a variety of costumes, including a giant chicken, a police car, and even a spaceship.
During their journey, Bandit and Cledus end up meeting a runaway bride, who is being pursued by her jilted groom and his angry father. As the chase continues, the two groups of pursuers combine forces, and they are soon joined by a gang of biker women, all of whom are eager to get their hands on the hot tubs.
In the end, the group manages to evade the law and deliver the hot tubs on time, with Justice getting his comeuppance once and for all. Bandit and Cledus then return to their new restaurant, where they are hailed as heroes and finally find success in their new venture.
