"Smoke" is a legal drama based on the true story of the 2019 Dearborn Heights murders, which occurred in Michigan. The film follows the trial of Michael Grayson (played by Michael B. Jordan), a young man who brutally murdered his entire family in a fit of rage.
Natasha Marshall (played by Regina King) is the lead prosecutor in the case and is convinced that Grayson deserves nothing less than the death penalty for his heinous crime. She is passionate about seeking justice for the victims and their family, but also struggles with her own personal traumas that are triggered by the case.
