Small Time Crooks is a 2000 crime-comedy film directed by Woody Allen. The film stars Woody Allen as Ray, a hapless criminal who, along with his wife Frenchy (played by Tracey Ullman), plans to rob a bank by digging a tunnel from a nearby empty store into the bank's vault. The robbery fails miserably, with Ray and Frenchy getting caught on camera, and the police soon arrest them.

While in jail, Frenchy gets an idea for a new business: a cookie shop. The couple decides to use the leftover money from the robbery to open a bakery, even though neither of them knows anything about baking. Frenchy enlists the help of her cousin May (played by Elaine May), who agrees to bake the cookies in the couple's new storefront.

Despite a rocky start, the cookie business takes off, becoming an overnight sensation thanks to the delicious cookies baked by May. The couple's newfound success leads to them moving out of their dingy apartment and into a luxurious mansion, where they hobnob with New York's upper crust.

However, their new lifestyle begins to take a toll on their relationship, and it's not long before cracks begin to form in their once-happy marriage. In the end, Ray and Frenchy decide to sell their cookie business and head off on a new adventure.

Small Time Crooks is a funny and touching film that explores the classic American dream of striking it rich, even if it means taking a less-than-honorable route to get there. With great performances from its cast and a witty script by Woody Allen, this film is a must-see for fans of crime-comedy films.
