As Emily campaigns for the position of sorority president, she becomes increasingly distracted by her new pet sloth, Alpha. The sloth is friendly and affectionate, and Emily quickly becomes attached to him. But when strange things begin happening around the house, Emily starts to suspect that Alpha might be more than he seems.
Soon, one of the girls in the sorority is found dead, and the police begin investigating the sloth as the prime suspect. Emily is convinced that Alpha is innocent, but her sorority sisters are becoming increasingly paranoid and afraid.
As more girls turn up dead, Emily must face the possibility that Alpha might be the culprit. But as she investigates further, she discovers a darker truth – that someone in the sorority might be using the sloth as a cover to commit murder.
With the help of her best friend and a kind-hearted detective, Emily sets out to unmask the real killer before it's too late. But as she gets closer to the truth, she realizes that she might be in more danger than she ever imagined. And when the killer comes after her, she must use all of her wits and courage to survive the deadly sloth in Slotherhouse.
