Sällskapsresan eller Finns det svenskt kaffe på grisfesten (The Charter Trip or Is There Swedish Coffee on the Pig Party) is a Swedish comedy film released in 1980. The plot follows the misadventures of two middle-aged men, Stig-Helmer Olsson (played by Lasse Åberg) and Ole Bramserud (played by Jon Skolmen), who embark on a trip to Gran Canaria during the Christmas holidays to escape the cold Swedish winter.
Stig-Helmer, a shy and clumsy man, hopes to meet some attractive women on the trip and finally find love, while Ole, a confident and womanizing bachelor, plans to seduce as many women as possible. However, their plans are quickly jeopardized by a series of mishaps, misunderstandings, and cultural clashes with the other tourists on the charter bus.
The two protagonists encounter a variety of eccentric characters, such as a hypochondriac with a fear of flying and a group of German tourists with a penchant for organized singing. They also have to deal with unforeseen problems like lost luggage, food poisoning, and a drunken karaoke performance. Throughout their journey, Stig-Helmer and Ole bond and become unlikely friends, learning important lessons about life and love.
Sällskapsresan was a huge success in Sweden, becoming the highest-grossing domestic film of all time. It spawned several sequels and remakes and is considered a classic example of Swedish comedy.
