In Sleepy Eyes of Death 9: Trail of Traps, Nemuri Kyoshiro is hired to escort a valuable gold statuette of the Virgin Mary from Edo to Kyoto. However, a group of Christian ronin, known as the Black Finger Group, have their sights set on the statue for their own nefarious purposes. Along the way, Nemuri must navigate through a series of dangerous traps set by the Black Finger Group, including a pit of spikes and a room filled with poisonous gas.
As Nemuri battles against the Black Finger Group, he also encounters a mysterious woman named Oson who seems to have her own agenda. Oson has a connection to the Black Finger Group and may hold the key to their true motives for wanting the gold statuette.
