The movie Sleeper is a 1973 American science fiction comedy film written and directed by Woody Allen. Miles Monroe (played by Allen) is a jazz musician and owner of the Happy Carrot health food store in 1973. After undergoing a routine surgery, Miles is cryogenically frozen and stored in a capsule. Two centuries later, in the year 2173, Miles is accidentally revived by a group of rebels who believe he is the key to defeating the oppressive government regime.
In this future world, people live under a totalitarian government that controls every aspect of their daily lives. The government uses advanced technology to monitor their citizens, including robots that act as police officers and record every move they make. Miles initially struggles to adapt to this new world and becomes an unwitting pawn in the rebels' plan to infiltrate the government.
