In the parallel world, Yeon-hee takes on the name Sook-hee and becomes a fierce warrior, using her skills from her previous life to protect the innocent villagers from vicious bandits and warring factions. She forms a close bond with a young girl named Nyang, who serves as her loyal sidekick and apprentice.
As Sook-hee becomes more embedded in this world, she uncovers a dark secret – a powerful wizard named Hwa-do has been manipulating and terrorizing the villagers for years, and is the root cause of much of the violence and suffering around them. Sook-hee resolves to take down Hwa-do and save the village once and for all.
Along the way, Sook-hee also falls in love with a local blacksmith, and must confront the harsh realities of this dangerous world – including betrayal, loss, and the possibility that she may never be able to return to her old life.
Throughout the film, Slate blends thrilling action scenes with heartwarming moments of camaraderie and personal growth, as Sook-hee finds herself transformed by her experiences in this strange and perilous new world.
