Skin in the Game is a 2019 crime thriller directed by Adisa. The film follows the story of 15-year-old Dani who is kidnapped from the sidewalk of a suburban area in the United States. The abduction is carried out by a group of people involved in human trafficking.
Left without any help from the authorities due to bureaucratic limitations, Dani's mother and an ex-prostitute who sympathize with the girl's situation take matters into their own hands. They form an unlikely alliance and set out on a dangerous and gritty journey through the mean streets, ghettos and back alleys of the city to find Dani and free her before it is too late.
