The Ski Patrol is a group of ragtag ski enthusiasts who work as volunteers at a struggling ski resort owned by Pops. Despite their lack of training and discipline, they are passionate about keeping the mountain safe for the skiers who visit the resort. However, a ruthless developer named Sam Maris wants to buy the resort and turn it into a theme park. He sends his henchwoman, The Rat, to sabotage the ski patrol's efforts and frighten the guests away.
Meanwhile, the ski patrol members are dealing with their own personal drama. Jerry, the leader of the group, is in love with snobbish ski instructor Ellen. The two of them clash constantly, but their mutual attraction is evident. Meanwhile, the laid-back T.K. is trying to overcome his fear of heights in order to become a better ski patroller, while the beautiful but ditzy Iceman is trying to avoid the advances of the lovestruck Eddie.
As tensions rise between the ski patrol and The Rat, Pops realizes that he needs to take drastic action to save his resort. He announces a "ski-off" competition, in which the best ski patroller will win a cash prize and save the resort from Sam Maris. The competition is fierce, but in the end, the ski patrol's dedication and teamwork triumphs over Sam's greed and corruption.
In the closing scenes, Jerry and Ellen admit their love for each other, T.K. conquers his fear of heights, and the ski patrol celebrates their victory with a group ski down the mountain. Pops, happy and relieved, raises a toast to his intrepid crew and the future of his beloved ski resort.
