The director, named Martin, is struggling to get the right shots for his horror movie, feeling the pressure from the film crew and the studio executives. Suddenly, six strangers appear on set, dressed in costumes and makeup, claiming they are the characters of the script left by a dead author named Luigi Pirandello.
Martin is initially skeptical, but as the strangers begin to act out their scenes and deliver their lines, he becomes convinced of their authenticity. The characters include a father, mother, son, daughter, and two young lovers, each with their own unique backstory and motives.
As Martin tries to navigate the sudden appearance of these characters, he learns more about their intertwined relationships and the eerie circumstances of their creation. The story of the dead author and how he came to write the script becomes a mystery that Martin is eager to solve.
As the characters interact with each other, tensions rise and conflicts emerge, making it increasingly difficult for Martin to continue filming his own movie. He becomes consumed by the character's stories and feels a responsibility to see their story through to the end, even if it means sacrificing his own project.
Throughout the film, the line between reality and fiction blurs, leaving the audience unsure of what is truly happening. In the end, Martin must confront the truth of the characters' existence and make a decision that could alter the course of their story forever.
