When the protagonist, Sarah, returns to her old neighborhood, she quickly begins to search for her missing son, Tommy. She struggles with sobriety and is constantly haunted by her previous addiction to drugs. Her ex-pimp, Alex, takes advantage of her desperation and promises to help her find her son, but only if she becomes his call girl again.
Sarah reluctantly agrees, hoping that Alex will help her find Tommy. However, she soon learns that Alex has made a deal with a local man, Jack, who is actually an undercover cop. Jack has been investigating Alex for his daughter's death, which was caused by a drug overdose.
As Sarah starts to work as a call girl again, she begins to uncover the truth about her son's disappearance and the circumstances surrounding the death of Jack's daughter.
