Single Black Female is a psychological thriller directed by Doug Campbell and stars Angela Bassett as Monica and Jacqueline Bisset as Simone. Monica is struggling to cope with the death of her father and a recent breakup while trying to land a new hosting job for an afternoon talk show. She hires a new assistant, Simone, who quickly becomes a close friend and moves in next door to Monica.
Simone seems like the perfect assistant and friend, but as time goes on, Monica begins to realize that there is something off about her. Simone starts to take over Monica's life, making decisions for her, and even attempting to steal her identity. Monica starts to feel like she is losing control of her own life, and when she discovers Simone's disturbing secret, she knows she needs to sever all ties with her.
But Simone is not willing to let go of the life she has created for herself, and she becomes obsessed with taking over Monica's identity. She starts to impersonate Monica, leading to a thrilling cat and mouse game between the two women that culminates in a shocking conclusion.
