Catherine O'Mara, a successful and ambitious sales executive in Manhattan, is so focused on her career that she has little time for anything else. However, her priorities shift when she meets 11-year-old Timmy, a troubled boy who has run away from his father and is living on the streets.
Catherine takes Timmy under her wing and they develop a close bond. She learns about his difficult home life and the strained relationship he has with his dad. Determined to help Timmy, Catherine sets out to find his father and reconcile the two.
One year later, just before Christmas, Timmy's father, a Christmas tree farmer named Joe, returns to New York to sell his trees. Catherine and Joe cross paths unexpectedly, and she sees an opportunity to finally reunite father and son. However, Joe is still bitter about his past mistakes and finds it hard to forgive himself, let alone ask for forgiveness from his son.
As Christmas approaches, Catherine works hard to bring the broken family together and help them reconcile their differences. The question is whether she will succeed and make this a truly Merry Christmas for all involved.
