Silent Hill is a 2006 horror film directed by Christophe Gans and based on the popular video game series of the same name. The film stars Radha Mitchell as Rose Da Silva, a desperate mother who travels to the abandoned town of Silent Hill with her daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland) in hopes of finding a cure for her mysterious illness.

Upon their arrival, Rose and Sharon are separated when a mysterious force takes hold of the town and causes everything to turn into a dark, nightmarish realm. Rose navigates the town, encountering a creepy cult and various supernatural entities, all the while searching for her daughter and trying to uncover the truth behind Silent Hill's dark history.

As she delves deeper into the town's secrets, Rose learns that it was once a booming mining community that was abandoned after a massive fire broke out. The fire was caused by a cult that believed they could summon a deity known as the "Darkness" by sacrificing children. The town's victims are now trapped in a perpetual state of limbo, trapped between life and death.

Rose eventually discovers that the cult has taken her daughter and intends to sacrifice her to the Darkness. With the help of a police officer named Cybil Bennett (Laurie Holden), Rose races against time to rescue her daughter and confront the sinister forces that haunt Silent Hill.

The film's haunting visuals, atmospheric music, and intense horror sequences have made it a cult classic among fans of the horror genre. It also features an iconic performance by actress Alice Krige, who plays the cult's fanatical leader, Christabella.
