Sightseers is a dark comedy movie directed by Ben Wheatley. It follows the story of Chris and Tina, a couple from the West Midlands who embark on a dream caravan holiday around the Lake District in England. Chris is an introverted aspiring writer, and Tina is a sheltered woman living under the shadow of her overbearing mother.
As they travel around, Chris wants to show Tina his world, including his love for caravanning and his interests in obscure sights and museums. However, events soon take a crazy turn, and the couple becomes entangled in a series of bizarre and gory events.
At first, Chris tries to protect Tina from the world's harsh realities, but as the trip progresses, Tina begins to change. She becomes more confident and assertive, and the couple's relationship becomes more intense.
As the couple's caravan journey takes them to a series of tourist attractions and historical sites, they start to bump off other tourists who are annoying them. They kill people who litter, those with a loud dog and other tourists who annoy them during their caravan vacation.
Sightseers is a satirical and violent commentary on British society and the human condition, and it has been praised for its dark humor, unique storytelling, and excellent performances by the lead actors, Alice Lowe and Steve Oram.
